- We take elevation readings across the whole foundation. This tells us which areas have settled and by how much, so the repair plan targets the right spots instead of guessing.
- We locate pier positions and dig access points. For a slab, that means small holes excavated along the exterior grade beam, or from inside the floor where needed. For pier and beam, we work from the crawlspace.
- We drive the piers to refusal. Using the weight of your home as resistance, each pier section is pushed down until it hits soil dense enough that it won’t go further — that’s “refusal.” This is the loud part; expect hydraulic equipment running during driving.
- We transfer the load and lift the settled areas. Once the piers reach stable soil, we lift the foundation as much as the structure will reasonably allow — closing cracks where we can — then lock the load onto the piers.
- We backfill and clean up. Access holes are filled, soil is replaced, and the site is returned to as close to original as possible.
- Engineer review, when required. For projects that call for it, an independent engineer reviews the elevations and repair plan, inspects the work, and provides final documentation.
